"My name is Maria. I was born in Poland and I was living there
until July of this year. My parents and two sisters are living in Poland.
"At
age six I started to play the violin. And over the period of 18 years
I went to elementary music school, to secondary music school and then
the Academy of Music. After that I became a teacher and I did this for
twelve years. I was working as a violin teacher with children and also
with teenagers.
"For
many years of my life in Poland communism was "the one and only
right system". I am glad I can say it is in the past.
"Now
I am living in Sioux Falls, S.D., with my husband Douglas and our son
Max. Doug is an excellent web designer. I also have a wonderful mother-in-law.
"The
new school year just began and I am looking for some violin students.
I came to know that schools offer only orchestra and chamber groups.
But kids have no individual lessons. This is a big suprise for me, but
it is good for me as a private violin teacher (or as a private viola
teacher).
"If
I have to choose one part of my life that I am proud of it is being
a mother to Max. I know that is not very original but it is truth.
"In
the future I want everything that is best for my family here in America
and also in Poland. I want for my son to have a good education and for
me to have a good job. And for all of us, excellent health. I would
love to create a music school where the children would be able to get
as good a music education as possible."
