Stanislawa Podemskiego
("Staš") is an extremely talented young violinist. In
this photo, Staš is performing at a youth recital, or concert,
given by and at the Chopin Music School in Olešnica, West
Poland, Europe.
Recently in May,
2002, Maria, Staš and Mrs. Podemskiego traveled to Staloweg Woli
in East Poland and participated in the sixth Polish National J. Garsci
Competition for young violinists. This invitational contest is held
only once every two years and young violin musicians and their teachers
from all over Poland hope to attend.
Staš received
a prize ("Dyplom") for his excellent performance. A scaled
digital scan of this award is shown below.
Maria also received an award in appreciation
and recognition of her work and preparations with Staš for the
competition.

Though Maria has
immigrated to the United States to rejoin her husband and return to
a family life with their son, Max, Maria misses Staš and all of
her other previous students, as well as her family, whom she had to
leave behind in Poland.
