Maria's Violin & Viola Teaching Philosophy:

"My viola teaching philosophy is much the same as my violin teaching philosophy...

"Children are precious and represent our future. For this reason I believe that children should be encouraged in whatever they do. Therefore, it is with this same encouragement for their musical interest that I approach teaching the youth violin and viola.

"Children are people. They are smaller and less experienced than adults, but they are individuals and should be treated as such, and with respect. They often amaze us with how intelligent or talented they are. I try to guide and teach them using what ever technique might be the most appropriate. For some students, I might use the Roland method. For others I may use the Suzuki method. Or, I may opt to use another method. But I am simply trying to train them the very best way possible for them.

"A method is not the religion. What is most important is the child (or student), not the method. I will use the best of what method will help the child the most.

"I hope you will consider my credentials and contact me. It's much better to explain everything personally. Please do not wait on a two year waiting list, as you can see as you surf these pages I am quite a capable violin and viola teacher. I assure you that I will try to bring out the talent in your son or daughter as best I can."
